EARTH DAY: WAYS YOU CAN STILL HELP

It’s the greenest month of the century! With our Joint Efforts mission, we are dedicated to ensuring the wellbeing of not only our customers, but our planet. As we are all adapting to changes in the community with COVID-19, we have sought out digital alternatives to help the planet this Earth Day.

Using the mobile app Earth Challenge 2020, our communities are able to gather scientific local data such as air quality and plastic pollution. With the current stay at home requirements, Earth Challenge 2020 is the best way for individuals to help our planet on their own.

The app allows users to take location-based photos of pollution to help determine what areas need clean-up, determines air quality based on location and offers tips on how to keep our earth clean. GATHER UP YOUR HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS TO CLEAN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD

Team up with your #StayHome team and take a walk together around your neighborhood or local park. Bring some trash bags and recycling bags to pick up any trash or plastic while using gloves. Avoid contact with any other people.

USE REUSABLE BAGS WHILE GROCERY SHOPPING

Shopping for groceries is essential. When you go to the grocery store, be sure to wear a mask and gloves to protect yourself but also make sure to bring reusable bags to protect our planet from plastic pollution. These bags can be found on Amazonor at your local grocery store.

RECYCLE PLASTIC IN NEARBY RECYCLING AREA

If your community doesn’t offer recycling, be sure to take matters into your own hands. Recycling centers are open during this time and will accept your recycled plastic from your home.

SAY NO TO PLASTIC STRAWS

Stay away from plastic straws not only during this time but in the future. They are a huge component to plastic waste. Reusable metal straws are available on Amazon for less than $5.
