APRIL 2018: CHEAP SPRING ACTIVITIES IN REDMOND, WA
Below is a list of free or cheap spring activities in Redmond, WA for April.
EVENT: TEATRO ZINZANNI – “LOVE, CHAOS, & DINNER”
When: Runs until April 29, 2018
Website: zinzanni.com/seattle
If you’ve never been to Teatro ZinZanni, you’re in for a treat. Created and opened by Norman Langill in 1998, Teatro ZinZanni has practically become an institution in Seattle, with shows running (more or less) continuously since 2002.
The word “unique” is thrown around a lot, but in the case of Teatro ZinZanni, “unique” doesn’t even begin to describe the experience. Think of it as “the Kit Kat Klub on acid” or “Moulin Rouge meets Cirque du Soleil.” Norman Langill, the show’s creator, characterizes Teatro Zinanni as “part circus, part cabaret, and always magical,” a concept that was “inspired by the great cabarets of Europe, spiked with a fresh sense of American comedy, and steeped in absurdity.”
You’ll enjoy circus dinner theater that over the course of a three-hour evening features international cirque, improv comedy, European cabaret artists, and vaudeville performed in a Belgian spiegeltent (which means mirror tent). The five-course dinner menu was created by Chef Jason Wilson, a James Beard award-winning chef.
A unique blend of European cabaret, Vaudeville, improv, and pop music, you’ll love Teatro Zinanni’s Love, Chaos & Dinner. The show features performances from first-time Madame ZinZanni Ariana Savalas, local aerial trapeze favorites Duo Madrona, world-renown magician Maestro Voronin, contortionist-puppet Svetlana, yodeling dominatrix Manuela Horn, hoop aerialist Elena Gatilova, Parisian acrobat Domitil Aillot, and Joe De Paul. Teatro ZinZanni Redmond’s production ofLove, Chaos & Dinner is directed by Joe De Paul.
Be sure to book tickets soon, as they frequently sell out and given the fact April is the last month of Love, Chaos & Dinner, and demand is high.
